Vikar eats at Musso & Frank, where Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler wrote Double Indemnity.

After unsuccessfully searching for Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor’s footprints on the Walk of Fame, Vikar goes into the Chinese Theater and watches 2001: A Space Odyssey.

In his first 7 hours in Los Angeles, Vikar has now seen a movie set in the middle ages, The Passion of Joan of Arc, and a movie set in the future, 2001.

Vikar goes to the Roosevelt Hotel, “built by Louis B. Mayer, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mary Pickford in the year movies discovered sound.” [Could be a reference to The Taming of the Shrew]?

Vikar gets a ride from a girl who stares at the tattoo on his head. Anticipating her identification of the tattoo as being from Rebel Without A Cause, Vikar clarifies that the characters are Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor in A Place in the Sun.

The girl drops Vikar off at Sunset and Hollywood, where he goes into a small movie theater and watches La passion de Jeanne d’Arc (The Passion of Joan of Arc).
